E-commerce development that removes every click between wanting and paying.

Online now takes 28.8 per cent of all retail spending in Great Britain (ONS, August 2026). The shoppers are already online, so the gains come from converting more of them, growing basket sizes and winning repeat orders. That comes down to the details: load time, product data, delivery options, checkout friction, trust signals and the second purchase.

In short

What is e-commerce development?

E-commerce development is the design, building and launch of an online shop, including the product catalogue, checkout and payments, delivery and VAT rules, integrations with stock and accounting systems, and the search and AI readiness that brings customers to it.

We have built online shops since 2010, from fashion (Baho Lani) to fine jewellery (Kappy's, Moissanite Diamond) to wellness brands (Gauri Ayurveda, Yatan Ayurveda), and the lesson from all of them is the same: shops are won in the details.

Deliverables

What we build.

01 Platform shops Shopify and Shopify Plus for speed to market and easy day-to-day running. WooCommerce when WordPress flexibility and ownership matter more. We recommend a platform based on your margins and plans, not our habits.
02 Honest prices, easy checkout The full price up front, including any compulsory fees, as UK law has required since April 2025. Clear delivery options and costs, a simple returns portal and a checkout that asks for nothing it does not need.
03 Payments UK shoppers use Cards, Apple Pay and Google Pay, Pay by Bank through FCA-authorised providers, and buy now pay later from authorised lenders, set up for the FCA rules in force since July 2026. Strong Customer Authentication handled properly.
04 Selling into the EU Support with IOSS VAT registration, landed costs shown at checkout (including the EU customs duty on low-value parcels from July 2026), multi-currency pricing and the accessibility standards EU customers now expect.
05 Product data AI can read AI assistants and shopping agents now research and compare products for buyers. Structured product data, clean specifications, honest pricing and review markup make your catalogue readable to them.
06 Trade and wholesale Trade accounts, customer price lists and invoices that flow straight into your accounts package, ready for e-invoicing, which becomes mandatory for VAT invoices between businesses from April 2029 (HMRC).
07 Shop automation Stock sync, order routing, review requests, abandoned-basket recovery and AI-drafted product descriptions at catalogue scale, with a person approving them.
08 Growth attached Our AI visibility and digital marketing teams take shops from launched to selling: search, AI mentions, paid ads, email and the analytics that tie it together.

Pricing and questions

Frequently asked questions.

Which e-commerce platform is best?

It depends on your catalogue, margins and plans. Shopify wins on speed and simplicity, WooCommerce on flexibility and ownership, headless on scale and unusual requirements. We recommend one once we understand your numbers, and we build all three.

How is an online shop priced?

With a fixed, itemised quote in pounds after discovery, paid in stages as you approve the work. Platform fees, apps, payment charges and hosting are listed separately with estimated monthly costs, so the running cost of the shop is clear before you commit.

Does our shop have to show the full price including fees?

Yes, if you sell to consumers. Since 6 April 2025, UK consumer law has required the total price, including compulsory fees, to be shown up front, and the CMA can now fine businesses directly. Its first fine, £4.2 million, was over a £3 booking fee left out of the headline price (CMA, April 2026). We build checkouts that show the real total from the start.

Can you add buy now pay later?

Yes, through lenders authorised by the FCA or holding temporary permission, as the rules in force since 15 July 2026 require. Your BNPL banners and checkout wording count as financial promotions, so we use wording your lender has approved.

Can you migrate our shop without losing search rankings?

Yes. Redirect mapping, data checks and a staged switchover are standard in our migration checklist, refined over sixteen years of platform moves. Rankings are tracked before and after, so nothing slips unnoticed.
